getting pinterested

leave a comment »

I’m only new to the pintersphere but I must say I find myself getting more and more pinterested… verging on pinter-obsessed. If you have not yet been enthralled into the world of pinning, this is Pinterest.

I have been desperately wanting to create a mood board for some time now but have not yet been able to steal myself away an afternoon with my magazines, collected catalogue snippings, postcards and other assorted bits and pieces. And although I see mood boarding as distinctly different to Pinterest, it does allow me to effortlessly capture treasured images that focus and delight my interest… almost like a rough cut of inspiration for a mood board. And even better, it saves the source link automatically, so I can retrace my steps to lead me back to my most beloved snaps.

If you would like to tune into my daily inspirations and captioned musings I would be so flattered if you followed me on Pinterest. If you would like an invite, just comment below.

A brief selection of my favourite captured images from my pin boards…

I’m a bit preoccupied with turquoise at the moment, so it was very tempting to select only turquoise themed images here…

countryside in the city

The only thing preventing you from being fooled you are in the English countryside is the plethora of wattle bushes (Australia’s national bloom) that line the streets. Which is quite fitting, being that this is the nation’s capital.

I may not be much of a photographer but I wanted to share some scenes that sparked my imagination today as I got lost and lost myself in this unknown town…

Golden hues challenge the bold Australian sky,

Muted greys of deciduous trees stand alongside soft pinks and creamy whites of blossoming shrubs.

Big pines, dotted with wattle bushes, line the side streets.

Will be sure to write when I use these snaps as inspiration for a project!

green space

Whether you live on acreage, have a modest backyard, a courtyard or a small balcony it is essential to have green space. Even if it’s just a planter box of herbs on the kitchen window sill.

I’m loving the concept of stacking, as featured in this post by I can picture a stack of my cookbooks, interior design books and fave reads next to my lounge, for easy access, functioning as a side table substitute… just as soon as I find my new home!
